Having appeared at The Royal Albert Hall and for Comic Relief on the BBC, belly-dance expert Jalya undulates her tummy in regular performances and runs classes to show beginners and advanced dancers how to jingle their bells like a Christmas sleigh. The former Miss Azerbaijan combines traditional and modern Middle Eastern dance moves to help women increase their strength and flexibility while developing an impressive shimmy. Jalya also sells belly-dancing costumes and her charity shows encourage coins to rattle out of pockets for a good cause.
Dancing dervishes can choose between hour-long belly-dancing classes and 90 minute sessions taking in belly-dance and hula-hooping. Students can get their kicks through a break-down of each movement until they are ready to take on challenging combinations for some belly button origami. Classes are accompanied by rousing Arabic and Turkish rhythms, and hula-hooping exercises can provide a cardiovascular workout that runs rings around the competition.
