Palmyra serves authentic Lebanese fare in a modish atmosphere, with delicate mezze and hearty main courses plucked from Beirut and planted into Kew. Artfully plated dishes dot the black tabletops, while florid hints of lilac surround a well-stocked bar. The restaurant is a stone’s throw from Kew Gardens station, and has garden seating for al fresco street-side feasting.
Proposing a toast with a glass of Sauvingnon Blanc Concilio (£6.75) or Shiraz Rose Elementos (£6.50), gregarious groups of two or four can begin their culinary journey at Palmyra by tucking into a choice of seasoned makanek lamb sausages (£5.50) or light warak inab spiced vine leaves stuffed with rice (£4.50).
