What does this treatment involve?
A solution is applied to teeth before a plastic mouthpiece is inserted and an LED light is directed at teeth. The process is designed to reduce yellow staining and return teeth to their earlier, natural colour.
What happens at the session?
A hygienist carries out a consultation to ensure that the client is suitable. If they are, the treatment is performed at the same session.
Does the treatment lighten crowns?
No, only natural teeth are affected. Crowns, fillings and other dental work will remain the same colour, though some surface stains may be removed.
What does aftercare involve?
Clients should not eat or drink dark, staining substances for 24 hours after the session. These include coffee, tea, red wine and Coca Cola or Pepsi; smoking should also be avoided.
