Gossip-filled coffee mornings used to take place at zoos, until chatterboxes realised that the parks were trying to promote conservation, not conversation . Ostriches, meerkats and bats abound at Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom, a family-orientated zoo and farm that houses both mud-wallowing and cantering animals as well as unusual creatures who are a long way from home. Younger children will enjoy feeding the deer and grooming the donkeys, while thrill seekers will howl with excitement when they see the pythons and boa constrictors at the zoo’s new Reptile Encounters exhibit. The thrills continue with egg collecting, meet the owls, and other contests held at Hoo Farm, which is nestled within the Shropshire countryside and surrounded by 32 acres of woodland.
Families or friends can spend an entire day at the zoo together: the family pass for five can be used by any five adults or children, regardless of whether or not they are related. Groups can wander around freely, talking with the parrots, hopping with the wallabies, and trying hard not to disturb the skunks. Activities and spectacles, such as go-karting and animal feeding are available at various times, and some lucky visitors might witness the famous Sheep Steeplechase bringing a slice of Ascot to Shropshire . Guests can bring their own food along to eat in the picnic areas, or grab a bite at one of the snack shops.
Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom was rated an encouraging 3.5/5 by TripAdvisors who enjoyed the range of activities and interacting with the animals.
Walking through the little wood was lovely as the kids searched for the Gruffalo, fox, owl and snake and spotted all the fairies. The play area also went down very well and I think they would of [sic] been happy to stay bouncing on the trampolines and hiding from monsters in the little wooden castle for a couple of hours, except the goat race was about to start so we had to rush off.

We celebrated my grand-daughters [sic] 2nd birthday here and it was just before Halloween, we had a wonderful day out, the children helped feed the young goats and walked round feeding the animals with the special animal feed they bought at the shop on the way in.
