Basking in the glow of four twinkling stars, Hilton York is a welcoming branch of the acclaimed enterprise that sits elegantly within the city walls. Dining experiences may commence with a twice-baked cheddar cheese soufflé with thinly sliced beetroot (£5); creamy garlic mushrooms with toasted brioche and a balsamic reduction (£5.50); or chicken liver pâté with sesame seed bread and a summer fruit chutney (£5). Mains may take the form of a chicken breast with steamed new potatoes in a pearl barley broth (£12), or an 8oz Barnsley chop of lamb, served with fondant potatoes and a mint jus (£15).

We ate in the restuarant one evening and the food was really good, and they have a good childrens menu. I would definitely reccomend this hotel.
