The Accommodation
With majestic brickwork surrounded by lush and well-groomed gardens, The Ruskin’s interiors echo their outer charm with faraway ceilings and stretches of bay windows. A handful of rooms sport four-poster beds, while others are big enough to house a whole family, and a cosy bar serves up locally brewed beers and a range of wines and spirits. Sitting just a short pootle from Harrogate railway station, the guest accommodation is perfectly placed for explorations of the city, and railway wanders to the nearby moors, of the quint city of York.

Groupon Recommends
Take a stroll down the road and soak up a spattering of Harrogate’s past with a trip to the Turkish baths on Parliament Street. The city is strewn with ancient spa buildings which have been transformed in to art galleries and museums galore, providing plenty of entertainment on rainy days. When the sunshine makes an appearance, put your horticultural hat on and explore the botanical gardens and colourful plant-life of Harrogate, showcasing flora and fauna in both public and private domain. After taking in the sights and Victorian splendour of the city, the original, world-famous Betty's Tearoom offers a taste of the past with traditional teas and sweet and savoury fare.

Reviews

The Ruskin receives a decent 7.1/10 from Bookers, and TripAdvisors award the accommodation a super 4/5 stars. While some reviewers found décor old-fashioned, they are keen to praise the comfort of rooms, quality of breakfast and helpful personnel.

The Ruskin is an elegant, spacious, characterful building in a quiet road only a few minutes from the town centre. The breakfast is outstanding: organic, local, and plenty of options, including kippers or boiled eggs and soldiers …
