This contemporary gastro pub exudes a rustic styled décor, ushering clients in with a traditional Yorkshire welcome and hearty menu that’s just as inviting. The classic Sunday roasts are accompanied by home-made starters and desserts that aim to stop tummies rumbling and keep sweet teeth yearning for more. Food is cooked using as much local seasonal produce as possible and the outside seating takes prime position within one of Ilkley’s only south facing gardens.
Pairs or quartets can succumb to starters such as the whipped goats’ cheese and plum tomato tartlet with rocket and caramelised red onion marmalade (£5.95), or the soup of the day (£3.95), before getting to grips with a hearty main. Wild mushroom resides by spinach and feta cheese to build a tower of contemporary lasagne, while the home-made Yard burger sits regally by hand cut chips (£9.95). Dessert fanciers can choose a sweet treat from the specials board to satiate sugary cravings instead of a starter.

Although not widely reviewed at present, The Yard Ilkley has received some fine write-ups from TripAdvisors and Yelpers. Diners heap praise upon the pub’s welcoming atmosphere, gastronomic cuisine, and quality customer service.
We shared the confit of duck starter which was delicious, before I had the venison which was stunning and my partner had the pork belly which was unusually served with rhubarb. The waitress advised us that this was one of their signature dishes. I can see why, although pork belly is not something I would order, it looked amazing and I am told tasted every bit as good as it looked! … Highly recommended, and in our opinion up there with Ilkley's finest.
