From Our Editors
Located to the West of the city of Glasgow, Windyhill Golf Club has a moderately challenging and picturesque golf course. This club has everything one would expect of a modern facility, with putting green, a range, and pro facilities. After the round, there is the nineteenth hole where players can enjoy a drink and watch the latest professional action on plasma screens. Windyhill Golf Club can be organised for hire, perhaps for a corporate function or special retreat - prior booking is essential and certain standards of dress are expected of gentleman and lady golfers. The course itself is of the traditional Scottish type, with challenging bunkers to collect any stray drives and contoured greens that will reward accuracy in the short game. The sixth tee at Windyhill Golf Club offers perhaps the best view of the course, and to see a crisp drive arrowing towards the pin at this location is one of the pleasures of a good round. This course is suitable for different ages; it offers enough challenges without demanding excessive length. The tee positions are fair but the flags may be a bit more challenging. Memberships are also available for those who intend to visit often or will be relocating to the western fringes of Glasgow.
