From Our Editors
Once a country coaching inn, this retreat retains its flagstone floors, original wooden beams and classic fireplaces, while rooms feature all the appropriate contemporary amenities. In the bar and restaurant, menus feature locally sourced ingredients and hearty British grub. The bar also serves real ales include guest tipples, and on sunny days visitors can nurse a pint on the south-facing terrace. Those who'd rather stick to the 21st century can take advantage of complimentary Wi-Fi, while those feeling especially rural can head to the Cotswolds, around 10 miles to the west.
