Follow in the footsteps of royalty and visit Jacobean houses. Aston Hall is a seventeenth century red-brick mansion situated in a public park on the north side of Birmingham. Built between 1618 and 1635 for Sir Thomas Holte and home to James Watt Junior from 1817-1848, Aston Hall is steeped in history. Stables Range hosts the Aston Hall Tea Room, which sells a range of hot beverages and snacks, and a gift shop.

A truly amazing place so close to the City Centre. The guide had a wealth of very interesting information about the hall and the tea room was great. Highly recommended.

A very informative trip on a not very pleasant day. You would have to travel quite a distance to see such interesting and historical places normally and here it is 'on the doorstep'.

If you are interested in Birmingham history this was a really enjoyable morning. The guide was very knowledgeable and cheerful , shame about him being a Villa supporter, but he made the visit fun and interesting. The cream tea afterwards was very nice as well.
