From Our Editors

Bella Italia prides itself on sourcing authentic Italian ingredients for their traditional cuisine. They import pasta from the Agnesi family, tomato sauce from the Emilia-Romagana region of northern Italy, gelato from Pizzi, and cured meats from the Fontana family. Opened in 1991, Bella Italia now boasts eateries the length and breadth of England, including the cities of London, Manchester, Leeds and Oxford. Their menu features a wide range of pizzas, pastas, antipasti boards and other classics, with an array of wine available to pair with any dish. The restaurants' interiors are styled in a quirky Mediterranean design, with many featuring Vespas and cosy booths.

My wife really enjoyed her pasta dish but my pizza was dry and tough. The staff were overstretched and therefore unattentive, possibly because the use of groupons was increasing demand. We've had a better experience at Bella Italia on other occasions.

Unfortunately the menu is quite restricted - on showing our Groupon vouchers to the waitress the standard menu was quickly whipped away and replaced with a tiny piece of card with a very small selection of food. Albeit we enjoyed what we had we felt that it was rather let down by the shot glass desert which was seriously tiny and only costs £1.95 on the main menu. I really can't complain about the drink included or indeed the quality of the food we had, Bella Italia does well on that score but considering the Groupon offer was supposedly worth £105 (paid 49.99) the potential bill for what we would have ordered from the normal menu would never have come to that much anyway. Feeling slightly ripped off and won't be using the offer again.

Bella Italia- Solihull Toucjwood. We went there with great expectations but it was a nightmare. I can live with anything but rude and impolite behaviour just makes me mad and this place is full of rude and impolite staff. They made us wait 30 min to sit with 2/3 of the restaurant vacant. Half the table they said were reserved but no one turned till the restaurant closed as we were the last to leave. The reason it took 15 min extra was because the table we were finally given was dirty and food all over the table and seats. Taking orders took another 30 min but not a single word of sorry. The manager is the sensible of all at least and tried sorting things for us which most of her useless staff couldn't. if you want to ruin your evening please go to the Bella Italia in Solihull Touchwood.

We waited a long time for food and we're told there was only 1 chef in the kitchen despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon. The portions were meagre. Won't be returning in a hurry.
