The Red Lion combines a traditional pub with an urban art gallery in the heart of Birmingham's jewellery quarter. On the walls of the UAB art gallery visitors will see the works of street artists such as Banksy and Nick Walker. The pub offers customers traditional pub food with a modern twist and serves breakfast, lunch and Sunday roasts with lighter options, vegetarian meals and Sunday roasts for children available. The bar serves premium and European lagers, local draft ales, on tap ciders and real ciders. Special guest ales are brought in every week and the local Birmingham lager, Budvar Yeast is also available. Four large TV screens around the pub show sports fixtures and there is a sheltered beer garden. The Red Lion Pub holds regular events including wine tastings, sports screenings, music nights and a weekly quiz. There is a Clubroom available for private hire with it's own bar, menu, 3D TV and wifi. This room can be used for special events and private parties, with a capacity of up to 80 people and offering exclusive menus and a license until 2am on weekends. The pub also offers membership to UAB Golf and holds two golf competitions each year where the competition comes second to the social. Beginners are welcome in these competitions. The Red Lion has a sister pub, The Lord Clifton and the UAB blog showcases a selection of urban art picked out by the two pubs.
