For the past 30 years, the team at Toby Carvery have been on a mission to bring British roast dinners nationwide. All meat is sourced from UK grass-fed or free-range farms that meet Red Tractor standards. Every day, each Toby Carvery restaurant lays on a family-sized feast. Tender, slow-cooked meats, eight lots of freshly-prepared veggies, including crispy, ruffled roasties, and freshly-made Yorkshires served crisp, fluffy and piping-hot. Vegetarian and vegan options are on the menu for those who leave meat off their plates, and a wide range of drinks can be paired with the dishes for a boosted indulgence. A kids menu and all-you-can-eat breakfasts are also available.
It was very sparing on meat and vegetables were a bit dried up
Newton Abbot branch
The chef carved the meats on to cold plates, so the vegetables quickly went cold before we began eating, gravy wasn't hot either, so whole meal spoilt.
Very nice waitress however, passed on our complaint and we were both given huge complimentary ice cream desserts as an apology.
Some of the waitresses are in a hurry somewhere even when the restaurant is 3/4 empty. A few are very helpful & pleasant.
They run out of meat surprisingly early, sometimes before 7 PM!
Food is good, prices are decent; and if you get one of the nice waitresses, this are three reasons to tip generously.
We planned to visit Toby Carvery very often, because we live near one and we both work 12h shifts (+commute). Quinton carvery closes at 11:00 PM, but at 7:00 PM was turning clients away at the door with a dry “we run out of meats”. We saw it happen twice in one week 2 months ago, then twice more since. Didn’t cross the manager’s mind to instead say: “We’re sorry, but we run out meat today”, or to add any sort of an apologies.
quite a nice carvery plenty choice of veg.
Fantastic selection of vegetarian options. I’ve had the Brie and broccoli parcel and mushroom tart, both of which were delicious.
Really great service at the Quinton branch.
Excellent value for money
