About The George Inn
Located in a refurbished 17th-century free house in the scenic village of Croscombe, The George Inn is a thriving village pub that serves traditional and modern British cuisine. The inside of the pub is decorated in deep browns and beiges, with wooden furniture and bines of hops to bring more warmth to the rooms. There are five different seating areas for patrons, including a beer garden and a contemporary restaurant in the old beer cellar. Guests enjoying their meals in the restaurant can also watch their food being prepared in the new open-view kitchen. The main bar area is characterised by its old-timey feel, complete with a grandfather clock and inviting fireplace. Winter visitors can sit down and warm themselves by the fire while digging into a hearty British meal, whilst the summer is a perfect opportunity to enjoy food and drink on the sunny beer garden terrace. Food at the George is prepared with locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible, and almost everything is home-made, including the delicious ice creams and puddings. And the owners add a unique flavour to the dishes by using ingredients they’ve sourced or grown themselves, like game, wild garlic, mushrooms, damsons, medlars, berries, rowans and sloes. The George Inn is also the hub of the community, with folk music sessions, darts, skittles, pool, music, special events and beer festivals throughout the year. A warm welcome awaits.
