From Our Editors

Located on the outskirts of Bromsgrove, Grafton Manor Hotel enjoys a classy setting down a private country lane, within an Elizabethan manor house rebuilt in the 18th century after a fire consumed a much older residence. Family-run for the past 40 years, the hotel offers a wide range of hospitality services that benefit from the providers' vast experience in the field. The on-site restaurant serves up traditional British cuisine that does not shy away from modern influence or locally sourced ingredients. Breakfasts, dinner, afternoon tea and seasonal menus are available alongside private dining and Sunday lunches. Special occasions, including lavish weddings, can also be catered for.

A beautiful Hotel. The tea was really good, we had an extra little pot at the end, lovely sandwiches, huge scones with clotted cream and jam, massive piece of sponge cream cake, macaroons and a chocolate diamond cake. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go there again!

Nice venue and LOVELY STAFF but food was a big let down. Few choices. Smoked salmon pate was rich sickly and lacking bread or toast. Paid £5 each extra for rib eye steak. The steak was small, very thin and mostly gristle and sinew. Very little was actually edible. Tomato was tasteless the mushroom was bland and the chips which initially looked good were very dry. I won't be going back.

I've used 2 vouchers for this venue, an afternoon tea and a two course evening meal with wine. The venue is lovely, steeped in history, and the staff attentive but not overbearing. The afternoon tea was average, perfectly good but no wow factor. The evening meal was lovely. A limited menu in terms of choice of dishes (one A4 sheet for starters, mains and desserts), but all seasonal and freshly made on the premises and done very well, much preferable to places with a huge amount of choice that they can only satisfy by using pre-prepared meals. I would certainly go back here for a meal. :)

We were warmly greeted and taken to our table. We were offered tea or coffee and duly served our afternoon tea. The sandwiches were lovely as were the macaroons but the rest was uninspiring and dull. The scones were awful and lacked flavour so we mostly left them, the fruit cake was dry and the sponge cake so very plain. The staff didn't attend to see if everything was all right so we had to go a find someone if we wanted something. The whole thing lacked atmosphere, presentation and style. It was inexpensive so I guess you get what you pay for. The venue is looking a bit tired too.
