From Our Editors

First established in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with the 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously-crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.

I purchased a voucher for the afternoon tea with prosecco, which was showing as available at the Bury store. When I arrived I was told they weren't licenced to serve prosecco. Which I said was fine we would just have the normal afternoon tea. When it came to paying the bill I handed over my voucher which was worth £25 for them to only knock £19 off the bill. The staff didn't see that there was anything wrong with the fact they had done this. It wasn't until the manager came to resolve the situation that my point was understood. The restaurant menu advertised the prosecco afternoon tea which is against advertising standards. If they don't serve it they shouldn't advertise it!

Make sure you book. I went into book and they said I didn't have to. So when I turned up with my elderly parents who have dementia they said they had run out ....so had to do with what I could get which wasn't good ....i was so disappointed x
