From Our Editors

First established in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with the 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously-crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.

It was as good as i'd expect. The food, look and feel of the bury one were all mediocre.

The only negative I would say, is that the sandwiches were a bit stale. The bread was very dry as if they had been made a while in advance. The fillings were nice. The little quiche was good, and warm. The cakes were lovely. There was a very generous amount of jam and cream for the scones. My husband had hot chocolate which was good because you quite often are only offered tea or coffee which he doesn't drink.
