Nice enough for what was paid with a discount code....was sat upstairs, curtains hanging off, fusty smelling and cutlery, teapot etc not the cleanest or nicest and some sandwiches had crusts and some had them missing which was odd... Probably won't go back to be honest.

I have never left a negative review anywhere before. However, my friend and I were not satisfied with our meal. The sandwiches were nice once they finally arrived, the cake was hard and difficult to cut in places. I had ordered an afternoon tea with prosecco - they were out of prosecco despite me emailing to confirm booking a few days before. I wonder if it had anything to do with the extremely young staff manning the tills and the alcohol age limit. They were very accommodating to my friends dietary needs. Think carefully about what you aim to get from this place. Pop in for a quick lunch yes, afternoon tea for your friends birthday celebrations - probably not the best place.

After purchasing a prosecco tea for two we went to the lunch box to find they don’t even have alcohol there. This was meant to be a belated mother’s day treat. Not impressed :(

We were told to choose a sandwich and a cake, so there was very little choice which you expect for an afternoon tea. Unfortunately very shabby surroundings, no nice china cups and saucers and presentation nil, tea weak, filling in sandwich nil, the only saving grace was the cake. So no I would not recommend for an afternoon tea, more like a truckers café.

It did not even look like afternoon tea. Sandwiches dry. Only 1 piece of cake per person. No scones. No cream. Only 1 hot drink, says unlimited hot drinks. Service terrible. Booked a table at the window but when came in everything was packed and we were given table at the wall.

I brought this for a family friend’s 90th birthday treat. The feedback from everyone (4 people)who went was that it was absolutely fabulous. The food was great and the staff really friendly and attentive.

Nice friendly staff and lovely, homemade food at a good price. It is not an afternoon tea in the traditional sense but you get a choice of a sandwich and cake each which is brought out on a cake stand. If there are a couple of you you can select a few different sandwich fillings and cakes and share between you if you want variety. Also comes with tea or coffee.
