From Our Editors

First established in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with the 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously-crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.

Had my afternoon tea at Brent Cross shopping centre the staff especially the Manager is lovely didn’t rush me or my guest made us feel welcome and gave us plenty of time to make our choices even the staff came around a few times to see if we needed anything which was nice even though they were quiet busy we weren’t ignored like some places I’ve been but Parisserie Valerie is what I recommend all the time as my number 1 choice for afternoon tea.
