From Our Editors

First opened in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisan baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 multiple venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft patisseries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose leaf teas. Their specialties include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato ice cream.

Friendly staff, great service, delicious food. The only criticism is the setting / ambience. It was a special occasion and although the food was special we were sat between an escalator and a wall.

Bought as a treat for my niece but when we got there (about 3pm - it's 'afternoon' tea after all) was told they had sold out.... not great. Very disappointed. Then gave voucher away to my Mum and Dad who thought it was lovely. So overall, mixed review. Can't comment on the food coz I didn't get to eat it. But my parents enjoyed it

Lovely food, although don't think it was that much of a saving, paid £15, would have cost £20 ish.....
