From Our Editors
First established in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with the 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously-crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.
Afternoon tea was very good, with plenty of food
The afternoon tea was delicious. Light as air cakes and delicious fillings in the sandwiches. The icing on the cake ( forgive the pun!) was the excellent service we received from Nicky. She was a terrific ambassador for the company .
Our visit to Patisserie Valerie was a treat to ourselves on holiday. Our experience was first class from the moment we stepped in the door. The staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. Attentive but not overbearing and nothing was any trouble.
