First established in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with the 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously-crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.
It was a lovely treat , everything was delicious and the service was great.
Good service. Had the all day brunch unfortunately it was rather cold, beans in particular. Eggs perfect, had to rush eating it because it wasn’t very warm.
It wasn’t busy so disappointing.
I did tell the waitress at the end of eating and she offered me some more beans, I declined because we had finished.
The staff were very busy but didn't clear out table at all which made us feel we should leave earlier than we would have liked
Having read in the fine print that none of my local branches could fascilitate the sparkling option I had paid for I was already unimpressed. There was also no need to book however when I arrived the afternoon tea was already sold out. I was informed we could have substitutions which we agreed to. Our food was plated to order so I was surprised that the sandwiches were already dry at the edges. The cake selection was not easily split evenly between 2. Staff were very friendly and helpful but I’m baffled why the bins bags were kept in a cage at the rear of the restaurant. Having the staff lugging full bun bags through the centre of the restaurant was bizarre and to be sitting next to them- it did not feel like the treat I expected. I was even more disappointed in the toilet. The manager had visited this room not 5 minutes before I had so I was very surprised to see it was unclean, no toilet paper and litter on the floor.
I will not be hurrying back
Ask for the tea to be served when you receive your sandwiches and cakes, otherwise you have cold tea. In this ocassion the scones were rock hard, and the cakes were very very dry. So disappointed, the best bit was we took home slices of cake that were as tasty as ever!!!
Nice choice of drinks with this, my cappuccino was lovely, good service , they bought drinks and food to the table, good selection of cakes. Sandwiches were fresh
Lovely afternoon tea. Would highly recommend.
Only vegetarian option left. Bread dry, cakes not very nice, but plentiful refills of tea
Always superb service at Patisserie Valerie. We had afternoon tea which was good, although I’d like to see the patisserie selection changed every so often. We’ve had the same every time, it would be nice to try something new. But overall we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
