It was one of the worst places I have ever stopped in.

The bed sheet hadn’t been changed, obviously not a mistake as the 2 top pillow cases had been laundered but the 2 underneath hadn’ been changed. I ran a wet wipe along the bed head and it was full of dust, so were the skirting boards. I ordered a fresh prawn salad, the prawns were like mush, they had no taste whatsoever, we were never approached to ask if everything was ok, it’s a shame as it’s a lovely area but

Other than both my fault and the owners fault when we finally got our room we ate at the location the first night then quietly having a drink in the bar approx 22:00hrs and then someone said you can take your drinks to your room I replied would you like us to go his next movement was he turned the bar lights off .The following night we decided to eat out and returned to the hotel at22:00hrs to find it locked up and in total darkness where do you go to a hotel and the place closes at 22:00hrs we will never return again

Weirdest place we have ever stayed. We are not fussy people but this place was odd. Massive bedroom/Suite, which had the wow factor on first look, but actually everything was very tired, wardrobe did not shut and wallpaper peeling off the walls. Bulb missing from a bedside lamp and only one tiny milk sachet by the tea and coffee facility. There was a loose socket in the bathroom. There was a massive jacuszzi bath reached by climbing 2 big tiled steps and then stepping down into the bath, but nothing to hold on to at all and no over bath shower. Around 9.50pm on our first night, I fancied a cup of tea, but as there was only one milk sachet I went in search of management to try an get some more. No staff to be found anywhere at all and the bar was all shut up and in darkness. The breakfast room was all locked up, so I gave up. We ate there the first night. I had roast beef and my partner had a pie. The roast beef must have ben under something hot for some time as it was dry, chewy and curling up at the edges. The Yorkshire Pudding was very stodgy and the roast potatoes were dreadful and very salty. Tablecloths not very clean. My partner didn't like the pie. Breakfast in the morning (only available from 8-9), was quite an experience. The cooked breakfast was ok as long as you got it nearer 8 than 9, otherwise it was dried up. The menu stated that there was both porridge and yoghurt, but there was not. When someone asked the waitress for porridge she just looked at him and said they had not got any. Very strange. Perhaps the oddest thing was that when we rang to book using our Groupon voucher, we were told that the dates we wanted were not available but that for an extra £70 we could upgrade to a better room that was available. We did this because we wanted June dates and not July. However we have since found out that several people were told this when booking, so we would be wary of this the next time we use a Groupon Voucher. All in all we didn't particularly enjoy our few days at the Tennant Arms and feel that we were over charged in return for not much. Their bar prices were very high too. We feel that they need to up their customer services big time and perhaps get a new chef. We would not go back.

Do not stay here. Bedroom is nice but the rest of it is poor. They couldn't find our booking and we had to wait while this was sorted. Food too expensive for what it was, the bar area is tatty and worn, and the staff unhelpful. The waitress was unfriendly and looked as if everything was too difficult. I will never go there again.

Don’t bother. It’s grubby, photos do not represent the current condition of the hotel.

It was acceptable the bedroom was clean but the window did not open (in the very hot weather) and no spare toilet roll. The breakfast was excellent but the Sunday evening meal was not good for the price the food was warmed up and not freshly cooked.
