The kitchen prepares hearty pub classics and a carvery, as well as lighter bites like salads and a range of vegetarian dishes. Food dry and over cooked. Was the end of the day and had a function booked and staff seemed very busy. Service could have been alot better. Was not offered our sweet or coffees which was oart of our groupon deal. Disappointed and would not go back.

We had the worst experience ever. It has totally put me off using Groupon again. We booked the table as agreed. It was an hour before our starter arrived which was appalling as it was not what was described on the menu. . The staff were stressed which resulted in the worst service we have ever experienced. Another hour passsed before the carvery was available and then there was only enough food out for the first 8 people. The chef then went back in the kitchen. Another half hour passed with everyone still queuing before we all started to walk out. Thank goodness for Fish and Chips because by now it was gone 7.We were told there was only 1 chef who was having to serve the other restaurant (not carvery). I believe the owner was called but did not arrive whilst we were there, which probably was a good thing for him as he would have been linched as there were at least 40 very angry Groupon customers. I would now appreciate your feedback.

Carvery was rubbish. Although everyone there had booked appointments nothing was ready, people had to have half a meal then go to get the rest when told it was ready, I have never experienced anything so badly organized, I would compare it to a very badly staged Faulty Towers and have widely publicized to all i know as such

You need to ensure the chef turns up to prepare the meal! We had to wait 1 and half hours for our meal.

Food was very good, carvery meats where excellent, nicely cooked, all the food was nice and hot. Really nice Staff who where very helpful and friendly, the only downside was the restaurant good do with a makeover, decoration/carpet, more lights to open it up to be lighter.

First impressions count and the guy behind the bard wore a t shirt so filthy i wouldn't use it as a floor cloth. The tables hadn't been cleared from lunch time. There was only one menu which had to be shared between all the diners but why bother with that when half the starters aren't available. The carvery was ver poor the meat was obviuosly left from lunch the veg almost a mush and barely warm again left overs. The broc was so yellow it should have been chucked away and the leek sauce had a horrid twang. There were no saucers to go with the cups as they were all dirty. It was a complete shambles and even after we complained there was no attempt to put it right. To add insult to injury we were just give loyalty cards who wants to go back???? We ladies also found it very patronising to be called my dear constatly.

We've eaten at the Wilmot before and found the bar meals to be very good, but we found the carvery a bit poor. The meat was dried up and the veg had clearly been there for hours. There was fairly loud dance music on which was a little odd. We didn't mind that but suspect that others might. The service was a little poor in general. The chap serving us was very pleasant but I think he was a bit stressed due to under staffing.
