From Our Editors
First established in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with the 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously-crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.
My sister & I had a lovely afternoon tea & service was excellent.
Food was good when we got it. The order was taken and we had the tea and butter and jam delivered then we waited and waited and waited. When the high tea was brought through from the back it was almost ten minutes before the server delivered it to us. By that time all the tea had been drunk. She did make more but it was a disappointing experience in Dundee. Our afternoon tea in Edinburgh was much better organised.
I had a bad experience the first time I went that was not s Groupon but visited it the other day with Groupon and couldn’t praise them enough lovely service and staff couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful
