About the course
The course is aimed at people wishing to develop their working knowledge of photography and covers such topics as camera functions and menu settings, shutter and aperture priority modes, manual mode, light readings, white balance, reading the histogram, and exposure control. Students will also learn the basics of picture construction, composition and lighting. The whole course will take place outdoors, in and around the South Queensferry area. Customers are required to bring their own camera which must have full manual control capabilities. A high end compact, bridge, or SLR/mirrorless camera is recommended.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Course starts at 10am and finishes at 3pm. The meeting place is at the Binks car park (opposite the police station), down Rose Lane. Must be a minimum of 6 students for the class to run. Maximum 10 students per class. The cost of lunch and coffee breaks is not included. Course days are variable and subject to weather conditions; generally speaking the courses will run unless customers hear directly from John Glynn Photography to the contrary. Attendees are expected to dress appropriately for the Scottish weather. Parking is free at the Binks car park and Hawes Pier at the end of the town. Payed parking is available on the high street.
