We were in room 1101 these rooms are at the back of hotel down in basement meaning our view was of a brick wall as we were below ground. Awful room very dark very small room & only suitable for staff room. These rooms should NOT be let out to paying guests on holiday. Disgusting & completely ruled our break. This hotel is extremely large with many front/Seaview rooms there is no excuse to put paying guests in theses pokey back rooms with no view or light coming in.

On arrival there was a big mix up as they thought we had booked into Folkestone, the receptionist however put this right straight away which was great. Refurbishment programme ongoing but the rooms heating system uses a blower system which goes off all night and it was too cold at the weekend to turn off. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable and the choice was quite varied, the coffee at breakfast however was so strong it wasn't drinkable and the hot water for tea wasn't hot enough for the teabag to brew. Overall the experience was ok and for the price remarkably good value for money but the hotel is desperately in need of refurb throughout.

Buffet evening meal and breakfast really good value. Room furniture old fashioned but was roomy and not noisy so we slept well.

My partner and I stayed at the Royal Albion Hotel from 24th August 2015 for 2 nights. I bought the groupon deal. Up until this stay we had never had cause to complain about any hotel deal ever. After a number of emails with the company we are still very dissatisfied with a complementary offer of one night as compensation. Our complaint was as follows The room you stayed was not up to standards, there was maintenance issues. The bed was uncomfortable due just a sheet on top of the mattress. There was a skip outside your window. During breakfast the staff open the fire door in order to get some fresh air and turn the alarm off and took 10 minutes to silent the alarm. There is a night club outside the room and you could not sleep due the noise from the night club. We would never recommend this hotel to anybody Yours in disappointment James Parsons

Really shabby hotel. Foreign staff playing bar music to suit themselves and not english customers, doesn't make for a relaxing environment. General courtesy all round would help as well!
