Finding a good place to grab a simple, exotic plate of food that is affordable and remarkable is always difficult, anywhere in the world. Luckily, The New Pakistani Cafe, which, hence the name, is under new management, is just that. Although it looks like it is mostly set up for take out, there are comfortable tables to sit at in the back of the restaurant, where one can be softly serenaded by Bollywood soundtrack music and other South Asian music. The food is proudly served by a kind and welcoming staff, who are always ready to help guests order from the smartly assembled menu of Pakistani culinary national treasures. Anyone familiar with Indian food will feel right at home eating at The New Pakistani Cafe. The New Pakistani Cafe offers many European style curries, but for a more genuine dish, the karahi - a more interesting and spicy version of a curry - is worth a try. For something quite spicy, the Lahori chicken karahi is sure to raise the temperature in a great way, with large pieces of ginger. The pakoras are delicious, and the gobi gosht, prepared with lamb and cauliflower, is a mild alternative. Those who want a terrific, simple meal in a quirky, interesting environment, should give The New Pakistani Cafe a visit, whether by themselves or with a large group of friends and family. For those who love Indian food and want to branch out, this is a great opportunity.
