From Our Editors

Originating as a Norman keep, Kelburn Castle and Country Centre now stands adorned with bold designs by Brazilian graffiti artists. Children's activities include a maze, playbarn, and the complex walkways of the secret forest. The site's grounds also play host to wildlife including deer, otters and peregrine falcons, and resident rangers who provide information and tours. Regular events number corporate functions, weddings and parties. Taking in the castle and grounds at their leisure, visitors can marvel at a distinctively colourful exterior, or stop by the likes of an adventure course, a stockade or Chinese gardens.

I haven't been here for over 20 years, so I took my grandchildren, a 5 and 1 year old, obviously out of high season (June 2017) so no pony rides or entertainment. The welcome was pleasant and lady was good with the 5 year old explains the treasure hunt, with in the secret garden, but I'm afraid to say it was a tatty place needs lots of work doing, really not a good place for a buggy (which got put back in car) this I felt could have at least been explained, so we had to carry the heavy baby round, which was also a pain for the 5 year old to enjoy the secret garden for treasure hunt as carting a baby and trying to make it fun and exciting for her was a very slow process, the kids playground especially as there were large dangerous concrete lumps sticking out of sandpit with bits of car tyres trying to keep little heads from being damaged if they fell or tripped over, I remember that there were birds of prey from years ago, bit they have sadly gone and the old gages are still there run down and weeds all over,, probs Won't ever go back I felt that once it's done it's done, I wouldn't say that it would have been worth the full price of £30, bit as we had voucher from froupon for £15 for family ticket it was sufferable, so far to say the least I was disappointed. Ps I am not a person who complains about much, so for me to right a review that wasn't for the good, I must have been dissatisfied. Nana

Very enjoyable day with the family. Only downside is that the toilets are greatly in need of refurbishment.

Great day out, especially if you get the weather. Little too though, wear comfortable walking shoes because if you're up for a good walk there's plenty to be done there. Amazing views and scenery 😊
