The Rock is a very friendly place with very helpful staff
Food good also staff very obliging will certainly return
Not a place i would go back to. Food not recommended. Even my 10yr old was happy with his.
Unbelievable value for money. For your £17 you can get 2 meals up to the value of £46.
I booked a table for 4 the meal was average, but the place was lacking atmosphere we were the only people eating in what I consider to be quite a large restaurant. We were sat in the conservatory part of the restaurant and there was a very strong smell of manure spreading from I guess a local farm I asked for the windows closing which seemed to improve things. I also had a pint of Guinness which was probably the worst I had ever had.
Will I go to this place again? definitely not.
very good value for money nice staffand pleasant seroundings . a very relaxing meal
Excellent, but make share you give 24hrs notice of your requirements. Will go again.
We had a 3 course Sunday lunch deal. Overall the food was tasty although a limited choice from the set menu. The vegetables were too hard for my personal taste and the service was very slow- we did have to go to the bar and ask for the dessert menu after waiting over 30mins. We probably wouldn't return as we have had nicer meals at pubs/restaurants closer to home.
Fan food will be back ;-))))
Poor hospitality. No one on Reception; ignored at the bar for 20 minutes. No welcome at bar. No draft beer, fruity cider or Guinness. Only 2/5 daily special puddings available - and waitresses didn’t know soup of the day or what puddings were available! Service very slow. Poor atmosphere. Cruet set dirty. Main restaurant area in full sun so too hot to eat Sunday lunch.
4 tiny bits of bread with pate; 2 small roast potatoes. Veg undercooked. Sloppy nonchalant service.
This is a wedding venue trying to be a local pub - and failing! They need to get their stock control and staff training sorted out.
We’d travelled a long way (Devon to Yorkshire to visit family), and were so disappointed we definitely would not return - and have told all family and friends what a let down it was :-(
