Turned up and didn’t realise you had to book, unfortunately we got turn away as the hotel couldn’t manage a afternoon tea on the spot so had to make a booking, when we turned up on our booked day, a little fuss was made that we had not printed out our voucher, they eventually accepted my app voucher. The afternoon tea was nice, had the whole room to our selfs as we were the only customers in there.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the cakes were very tasty. For the price you pay the afternoon tea was excellent value for money. The lady who served us was lovely.

Nice food, plentiful. Good place to chat away as we were the only people there.

Very reasonably priced afternoon tea - sandwiches nice and fresh, scones with thick cream and jam, and a selection of cakes (nothing exotic, two were Mr Kipling slices, but nothing wrong with them for the price) - only people in the restaurant, very quiet hotel, probably used mainly by business people in the week, and therefore no one around in t he daytime.

Introduced ourselves to reception and were shown to a table set up in the dining area. Receptionist then went into the kitchen to bring everything. I asked for earl grey tea which I had been especially looking forward to but she didn’t know where it was kept and kitchen staff weren’t due to start till 5, some hours away so I had to settle for ordinary tea. Scones were warm and delicious and served with 5 different flavoured jams and lots of clotted cream. There was a variety of tasty cakes (one of each) and although they looked like frozen/pre made cakes, they were nonetheless lovely. The mostly crustless sandwiches were very fresh and tasty. We were the only ones in there but it was still a pleasant comfortable atmosphere and we were quite stuffed by the time we left. Excellent value on the whole and would definitely return.

The lady at reception was excellent very friendly. I am afraid though the venue is lacking any atmosphere and we were the only customers there. Overall I would visit again and give it a second try
