The road to diving in the big blue can begin with an open-water referral course, which covers knowledge development and pool work, enabling budding divers to move on to the four open-water dives. At the end of the course a Referral Certificate, which is included in every Log Book, will be signed and validated for the next 12 months. The course includes training, equipment and air fills.
The Fine Print

Must be 12 or over. Under 18s must be accompanied by and have paperwork signed by an adult. Must be able to swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes. Every participant must complete the PADI Open Water e-Learning or PADI Open Water touch-learning programs including the on-line exam before attending the course. These are not included but are available for purchase direct from Gatwick Scuba at a cost of £108.00 or from PADI at a cost of £113.00. All participants must complete a medical questionnaire prior to course. Referral to open water dives is good within 12 months, however after 6 months a refresher course may be required.
