From Our Editors

First opened in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.

I went there with three other colleagues ( so 2 was paying full price) on the 08-08-18 and The service from the waitress was awful she took an age to take our order ( it wasn’t that busy)she was aggressive and rude, the food was cold and at various stages a what looked like a tourist kept coming into the restaurant to grab leftover food from empty tables( which had been left by the waitress for over 15 -20 mins) and at least 2 of the staff saw him and said nothing. When it came time to pay on of my colleagues went up to buy a slice of cheesecake and settle the whole bill and told me she was rude to him. Overall bad experience would not go there again( Marble Arch patisserie Valerie)

The food was fine although the waitress was a bit brusque. She had upset other customers as we arrived who told her they were leaving due to her rudeness. This was Sunday midday.

I had the eggs royale- salmon was cold and clearly just taken out of the fridge, I expected better presentation, eggs were cooked for too long so were not runny. My wife had eggs benedict and her bacon was more fat than meat. On the plus side the service was very good and so were the hot drinks.

Love the place, went with my 3 sisters and stayed to closing time. The staff were very polite and friendly. Sandwiches options were also flexible to our likes and plenty of hot drinks options. Would recommend the place and I will be going again. X
