From Our Editors

First opened its doors in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.

It was Patisserie Valerie at Spitalfields. Our waitress, Sarah was fantastic. We were a group of 9 women with varying tastes and questionable decision-making rates and she kept the table together and also tweaked menu options where she could. We had goodies left over and she provided boxes and bags to make our experience all the better and great value for money. She is an asset! The afternoon tea was fine for the price. The prosecco was lovely.

A lovely afternoon tea with bottomless hot drinks. Fantastic selection of sandwiches and cakes. Initial order was taken at the counter and then waitresses took out drinks orders from the table which was a lovely touch. I'd definitely recommend this afternoon tea!

This was a really lovely experience, you did not have to book, just chose a location and sit down at your leisure. we choose a branch just off carnaby street, and the waiter was so nice. the tea was excellent, and we had trouble to finish it all. the selection was first class, and when asking for some hot water to top up the tea, it was no trouble. and we were not rushed. would definitely do this merchant again.
