From Our Editors

First opened in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisan baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 multiple venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft patisseries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose leaf teas. Their specialties include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato ice cream.

My main comment was on arrival we noticed even though it was not busy (a Monday afternoon) the tables was not cleared, the waitress did come and wipe are table, the waitress was very nice. We had afternoon tea, the bread did taste a bit stale but everything else was nice. Visited three times now to the lincoln branch, not sure if we would rush back

A disappointment, scrambled eggs like rubber and some service staff acted like they really didn't want to be there

You need to order well in advance. I went to order 8 days in advance but could only get a day for 12 days in advance which was too late for what I won't it for.

Staff rushing , not a relaxing experience , rushing so much they dropped stuff then never really leaned it up properly . The food was semi warm the whole experience was just snout worth what I laid on groupon I would not go back there again it was more like fitting in cheap cafe with staff who were stamping around fir no apparent good reason it wasn't even that busy . Polish your act up .

We sat down for our afternoon tea and order a tea and coffee to drink with it, 10 mins later the food came out but no drinks, the waitress said she would be back with them, 10 mins later still no drinks, told another waitress and finally 10 mins later our drinks arrived. Not overly impressed as we tried to have our tea the week before and they didn't have any, I know we didn't book but it did say you didn't have too!

My friend and I went to Nottingham for the brunch for 2 it was not very warm the bacon. We sat next to a couple of ladies having the afternoon tea (was not on Groupon) cakes looked very disappointing. They had also asked for vegetarian sandwiches and they were given non vegetarian ones which the waiter took back to be changed. Unfortunately their second lot of sandwiches still had meat in them by which time they gave up and left! Perhaps temp chefs that day!
