From Our Editors

First opened its doors in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialties include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.

We visited your restaurant in Lincoln which we have been to many times and have always enjoyed the food. On this occasion once again the food was lovely but spoilt by other patrons who were extremely loud and made it difficult for us to have a conversation. I appreciate that dealing with this is very difficult but situating tables very close to each other doesn’t help those who end up sitting next to those tables. The restaurant did appear to be lacking in staff during what was a fairly busy time. Only one waitress and another member of staff filling and emptying a dishwasher. However once our order was taken our drinks and food arrived fairly promptly. We will continue to visit the resturant

I would definitely recommend this, we were shown straight to a table our waitress explained everything to us, the food was lovely and so filling, there was lots of it! We were very well looked after the waitress was lovely and very polite. There was s good selection of sandwiches and cakes. I would buy this again for myself and for gifts as it was really lovely.

Nice what you got but very small. Tiny sandwiches, not at all comparable to other afternoon teas I have had. Disappointed as took parents for their 55th wedding anniversary.

The afternoon tea was very nice although the brown bread used on some of the sandwiches could have been fresher, the service at the table was fine but unfortunately the "meet and greet" when entering Valeries left a bit to be desired, the girl was surly and abrupt not a good way to start
