The Forge in Slindon is a community-owned establishment that combines a cafe, a shop and information centre. A cross between a convenience store, a deli and a farm shop, it stocks a range of food and grocery products, everyday essentials and newspapers. Boasting free Wi-Fi and using locally sourced produce, the cafe serves up breakfasts, light lunches and a selection of snacks, cakes and beverages, from coffee and tea to wines and beers. The information point offers information about the area including the South Downs National Park, and The Forge has cooperated with the National Trust to put together four local paths of different lengths for walkers to enjoy the beauty of the West Sussex countryside.

Afternoon tea , fabulous. Beautiful sandwiches. Warm fresh scones delicious. Lots of jam & cream. We couldn’t eat the Bakewell sponge so we had a box to take it home. Would highly recommend The Forge we go as often as we can .

Went to The Forge Cafe & Shop for afternoon tea with our friends which was excellent value for money. The place is in a lovely location ideal for long walks and it is dog friendly. The staff are very courteous and efficient.

We had afternoon tea here in April 2018. You get a choice of two sandwiches, 1 scone and a cake each from their selection that day. It is a lovely place. We sat outside and enjoyed. However, you each have to share either tea or coffee. You don't get a choice each. The pot of tea they give you is supposedly for two, but truthfully you get one cup each and a little dribble at the end. It is not as good as some other afternoon teas I have had. Purely because you don't have the selection like other places have offered. But for the price and the atmosphere I would say give it a go.
