From Our Editors

Used as a film and TV location over the years, Manorbier Castle is a 12th century Norman structure which sits in a village overlooking the scenic Manorbier Bay. The castle features millennia-old architecture, complete with wax figures and atmospheric music to set the scene. A ticket will allow visitors to explore various areas including the Great Hall, chapel and turrets, plus the dungeon where unlucky waxwork Tudor prisoners reside. Guests will also have access to landscaped walled gardens which offer a tranquil spot to soak up the historic surrounds. There's a cafe serving up light bites and refreshments, and a gift shop which stocks mementoes.

A really lovely castle with beautifully maintained gardens. The staff are so friendly and the cafe serves delicious food and drinks and there are several places to sit and relax or have a picnic. The history is explained throughout each area of the castle. Wonderful views from the towers too.

Five of us got there in the afternoon ,only to be told that they were shutting early to get ready for a wedding the next day. So a bit of a rush to look around it. Not very happy about that. You take the time to visit somewhere only to be told you have to be quick. The lady in the shop served us and she was not very welcoming. Quite aloof. The castle is nice but not really worth the entrance fee. Good view looking out to sea, but visit was very rushed .if they have a wedding it should not involve other paying customers.
