What You'll Get
Those needing to keep business financial accounts will be able to pick up some essential bookkeeping know-how over the duration of this course. The content covers key areas such as creditors, debtors, profit and loss, and bank reconciliation, as well as the application of that knowledge in using the likes of Sage 50 software. Sessions are available every weekday evening from 6pm to 9pm, as well as on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm.
- Accounting Concepts and Bookkeeping (six hours):
Participants will look at the basic ideas behind business and bookkeeping mechanics, and how the two are linked. Credit and debit are covered along with day books, ledgers, balance sheets and management reports. Practical examples are given, with everyone tasked with creating a manual day book, sales and purchase ledger and nominal ledger.
- Sage 50 Software (nine hours):
Like the section before it, this part also focuses on practical skills with an introduction to the use of the Sage Line 50 software. Participants will explore application concepts as well as the procedures needed to formalise business accounting by producing key reports on the documents covered in the previous module.
