Lex Van Dam Financial Education is a company providing training in financial trading and investment. Its courses can be studied online. One of the company's courses, the “5-Step-Trading” course, was featured on the BBC programme “Million Dollar Traders”. Footage shot for this programme can be accessed via the web site. Lex van Dam is a hedge fund manager in the UK. His financial career started in 1992, as a stock trader for Goldman Sachs. He worked there for ten years rising to the position of head of the equities proprietary trading desk. He is now a hedge fund manager at Hampstead Capital LLP. Lex's company is currently seeking out reputable partners to participate in the inauguration of educational projects in Europe, China, India and Japan. The essential elements of this course were employed to train a group of eight people who had no prior experience of trading. At the end of a two week course they were given one million dollars and, over a period of eight weeks, used this money to trade stocks. The training given enabled them to perform better than professional traders. The course is available online and consists of five videos, each of thirty to forty minutes duration. There is also a workbook to accompany the course. At the end of the course students can sit an online exam. If the exam is completed successfully the candidate will receive a certificate. The workbook and exam are purchased separately. A similar course is available dealing with currency trading.
