From Our Editors
Based in London AptitudeUK was set up on the first of August 2012 to create a network of professionals working in different aspects of the fashion world. A website directory was started to give members the opportunity to post a portfolio and information about themselves. The website has a stated aim to help young people, who are not professionally represented, develop a career in the fashion world. Members include make-up artists, stylists, photographers, and journalists who can network and share opportunities. When an event is posted the information will be seen all who are registered and who may be interested to attend or participate. Expansion of the web-site will include a market place where photographs, designs and services can be sold. Events which can be featured on the network include, arts and exhibitions (if relevant to fashion), and networking events, where aspiring talent can meet established professionals. Fashion shows which showcase the work of new designers and models can be promoted and entertainment events publicized. Casting events which offer paid work can also be announced so members have the opportunity to attend. With a social aim to help young people get started AptitudeUK will promote radically new designs and ideas. Creative talent which may struggle to gain coverage in the established fashion world. Members are encouraged to post links on social media sites and spread information further afield. The website can help spread the publicity required to make a success of any fashion event.
