From Our Editors

The first restaurant of its kind in London, Bel Canto’s intimate basement venue serves up a feast for all the senses with a set menu of French cuisine accompanied by sweet side dishes from Puccini, Wagner and Gounod. Every 15 minutes meals are punctuated by the dulcet tones of a team of fully trained opera singers who double as waiters and waitresses. They burst into song accompanied by a pianist behind a grand piano. The singing waiters can also be hired out for special functions and parties to provide a unique twist for all sorts of events. Located within the 4* Corus Hotel opposite Hyde Park, the restaurant is the only one outside France, where branches can be found in Paris and Neuilly.

Fabulous evening spent at this venue, with excellent food and jaw dropping opera from the waiting staff! The restaurant is quite small, but this only makes the whole experience very intimate, especially when the singers walk amongst the diners whilst performing. Exceptional night out and will definitely return with my other friends. Highly recommend.

Take care if using a Groupon offer when it comes to the bill as the automatically added tip is based on what the meal would have cost if paying full price. Having said that, food and entertainment both excellent and we have now had two fabulous experiences at this great venue

First time here but certainly not the last. Quality singers and warm friendly atmosphere. Food not compromised by the entertainment. An enjoyable time for us all. Wow

Close to Lancaster Gate tube (just turn right). Downstairs to an intimate restaurant. Delicious food with great flavours and beautiful presentation. Very good servers and amazing opera. I'm not really an opera fan but thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The atmosphere was lovely, they sung some well known pieces and had us all clapping and 'singing' along. Definitely worth going to.

As a gift for Special Birthdays I have booked and arranged a night at Bel Canto for family, but have never been myself. I have always been told what a fabulous night they had etc... etc.... so as we were visiting London I decided it was my turn to go... We went with friends and I can honestly say we all had the most fabulous evening. What can you say.... The food was wonderful, The scallops were a delicious starter, for mains I had Monkfish, which was a bit naughty as I had had the same the night before at Fishworks, but this was even better, it is not an easy fish to cook, but it was perfect. The wine selection was also excellent, but the singing now that was sublime!!! We were entertained by a live pianist and four amazingly accomplished opera singers they were all fantastic and sung so many beautiful arias acting them out so that you felt you were part of the stage. Our favourite was the Soprano, but when the Tenor sang Katarine that invoked so many happy memories. It is unfair to pick any favourites as all of the singers were fabulous. We did not leave till the end and wished the end never came. Next time we go to London I know where I will be booking first... Ilya and his team are absolute professionals. There is no word to describe what an evening this was but if you could be that close to truly professional singers and pianist, while eating great food I can only compare it to sitting on the steps in Verona with a picnic basket of everything you love to eat and drink while listening to the live opera... Some people have said they thought it was expensive, no way... The whole evening cost less than a ticket to the opera and the experience was so much more...
