Yoga is a form of exercise that brings equilibrium to the body, spirit and mind, creating healing in the body. Bikram Yoga City studios teach students this form of yoga, invented by Bikram Choudhury. It is practised in a heated room to allow the muscles to relax and avoid injuries while exercising. The Bikram yoga comprises of 26 Hatha yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises performed in 90 minutes. There is a brief stop between each posture before continuing. The benefits of this yoga programme are diverse and those who have practised it give it top marks for helping them achieve great wellness of being in body, mind and soul. The Bikram yoga programme is taught in 3 studios in London. The teachers are all highly trained in the Bikram yoga postures and have a passion for yoga. They take students through the sessions at a pace that is comfortable for all, whether the student is a veteran or a newcomer. The exercises bring effects such as purifying the body from toxins through exercising in the heated room, causing sweat, and the structured poses are designed to oxygenate the body's organs to create wellbeing in the whole body. This makes the body self heal, without the need for conventional medicine. The exercises bring overall suppleness in the muscles and joints, giving the body high flexibility and lightness.
