From Our Editors

Boisdale of Bishopsgate is a fine dining restaurant, Champagne and marble-topped oyster bar in the heart of The City. The creative British cuisine has proven its worth with a 2016 Michelin Guide recommendation, and regular events and live jazz nights keep the atmosphere alive. There is something for everyone on the menu, with dishes featuring the likes of lobster, steak and burgers, and a cocktail list and wine menu to satisfy all tastes. The main dining hall features warm Boisdale livery of dark reds and greens with a touch of tartan.

We had a nice table for 6 but because the restaurant is in sections we weren’t really able to see the musicians properly and they were very much in the background. Delicious chateabriand but very expensive for the quantity of food you get.

Went to this eatery with Groupon, lovely steak but very very salty. Also portions of chips are very small. Atmosphere ok, service good but a little overly priced. £5 for sides, £8 for deserts and around £4 for a bottle of still water. If it wasn't for Groupon I would not have dined here.

Warm greeting and intimate atmosphere. The place was buzzing as soon as we arrived. Our meal was excellent plus the live jazz we also enjoyed. Staff were excellent. Not just a meal but an experience

Felt like we were treated like a "Groupon customer". 50% off the food equalled 50% off the service. At first I was told we had no reservation, despite having confirmed it with them twice on the phone. Waited ages to be served. Got given a couple of bits of stale bread with no butter. 25-30 minute wait for the food. The steak was overcooked but not bad. But it wasn't anywhere near as good as it could have been. Waitress was bewildered about the cocktails we ordered. All in all it was barely worth the price we paid for it so would never go there again and pay full whack. In fact I wouldn't go there again if it was free.
