caribbeanscene Celebrating all things Caribbean, Caribbean Scene Royale at the ExCeL Marina is an award winning restaurant serving authentic food, drinks, cocktails and rums. Highly trained chefs use fresh produce, herbs, spices and traditional cooking methods to prepare meals in an open kitchen. The restaurant seats 100 and is just a short walk from the ExCeL Exhibition Centre opposite the Crown Plaza Hotel with views across the Marina and Canary Wharf. The theme of the restaurant is continued in the décor with views of the Caribbean islands shown on plasma screens while you eat. On warmer days, al fresco seating for 60 is also available, voted one of the top five Al Fresco dining areas in London by the Guardian. Sample Caribbean cocktails, beers and 35 varieties of rum in the Hurricane Cocktail Bar, open from 6pm on weekdays and from 12 noon on Fridays and weekends and enjoy live Caribbean music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Caribbean Scene also presents a range of themed events such as The Independence Anniversary of Jamaica and the Jerk Chicken Challenge. This branch is the flagship restaurant of the chain, with two other branches in Stratford near the Olympic Park and a hospitality arm. Caribbean Scene has won the Caribbean Cuisine Consortium's award for Best Caribbean Restaurant in the UK for two years running and has been named by Time Out as one of the top 50 restaurants in London.
