From Our Editors

HMS President 1918 offers panoramic London views from its mooring on Victoria Embankment. The boat was built in 1918 as a Flower-class submarine Q-ship and is now operated as a bar, restaurant and conference venue. The ship is situated within five minutes’ walk of Blackfriars and Temple tube stations, while the South Bank is a short jaunt away over Waterloo Bridge. Visitors can enjoy views of St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye, OXO Tower and many other famous attractions. The ship is equipped to host private dining for parties of between 15 and 350 and is available for conferences, weddings, civil partnerships, parties and other events. The Captain’s Quarters bar serves a selection of bar food and snacks and a wide array of refreshments which can be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace. The historic boat currently sports a striking dazzle camouflage exterior designed by German artist Tobias Rehberger to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Was not offered a choice of other drinks if you don't drink tea.

Service very good so no changes there. But would not go back unless able to sit outside on deck as eating area for Groupon deal was depressing

The staff were not only unhelpful, but incredible rude. There were clearly too many people to seat and they were rushed off their feet. Wouldn't even allow table service, when we asked where our drinks were, we were abruptly told to wait as they were busy. The table we were seated on was in the walkway on the side of ship, with no views whatsoever. Not sure who decided on seating but when I asked to move to the top deck I was told it was fully booked. I decided to duly move myself with my girlfriend and we found a seat. The guy who told us we couldn't was clearly too busy to even realise we had gone up there. All in all - terrible service, terrible decor on the boat which needs real work and a poor deal. On the plus side the afternoon tea was actually pretty decent, especially the scones.

The toilets are an absolute mess also the boat could do with a bit of a tidy up everything looked cobbled together last minute, also although the service was good it seemed under staffed which added to the last minute rushed feel. The tables next to the stairs where I was sat just clearly shouldn't be there as it gets in the way.
