Illusion Flamenca is a dance school which is based in central London. Its classes are held at convenient locations in King's Cross and Covent Garden. Classes are taught by Angela Alonso, and are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Alonso is the founder of the school, and she remains an important cultural presence in this part of London. She was born in Almeria, Southern Spain, and helps organise the annual 'Taste of Spain' festival, in tandem with the Spanish government, which has become a regular event in London. Several other experienced instructors work alongside her to provide customers with a high standard of tuition in all dancing and musical disciplines taught by the centre. Spain's musical brilliance and atmosphere captured at Ilusion Flamenca Alonso founded the school in 1999, and it has grown from its humble beginnings in a South London studio to its position now, as one of London's premier flamenco dance centres. Dancers from the school have taken part in a huge range of events and performances since those early days, and continue to appear in shows in the South of England. The centre is about more than just dancing, with flamenco guitar lessons also available for those who prefer to make music rather than dance to it. As well as teaching clients to dance, Ilusion Flamenca also provides dancers and musicians for hire, helping to create an atmosphere of Southern Spain at a variety of events and celebrations. A personally tailored flamenco show can also be produced to a customer's requirements.
