Really poor service - bad staff attitude, food is also terrible. Would never return to this place even if I were absolutely starving.

PLEASE BE WARNED: .......This is NOT the real MOTI MAHAL.... The Groupon relates to a downmarket Indian Restaurant named TAKARI, it couldn't be more different to the real MOTI MAHAL which was an upmarket establishment across the street that has now closed down. It is seeking to trade on the reputation of the other establishment and is at the completely opposite end of the culinary scale. MOTI MAHAL was a 5* establishment this is 1* is every respect. It's hard to imagine two more different Indian restaurants in terms of quality and ambiance. I have reported to Groupon the fact that their ad and links are for the real MOTI MAHAL, not the downmarket establishment which the coupon actually relates to. In my opinion it is nothing more than a deliberate scam where Groupon, perhaps inadvertently are duping their clients. The cheek of it is that the downmarket establishment have hung a banner over their own name sign to hide it and stuck a paper near the door with the words MOTI MAHAL on. It is absolutely disgraceful.

Groupon states Michelin listed! No way. Booking online was easy as when we finally found restaurant, no name outside, we were only ones in there. This didn't help to enjoy occasion as the waiter stood nearby just waiting for us to finish. Beer nearly £8 a pint and if you wanted lamb cutlets additional £5. Not stated on Groupon offer. Food edible but very average. Was chicken just the frozen pieces? Will not be going back.

Not Moti Mahal at all. This wasn't Moti Mahal - this was a shadow of that place. Moti Mahal was further down the road in an extravagant venue and with excellent food. They moved to a small, cheap venue around the corner without any sign on the door for the purposes of this deal. As soon as we walked in we asked if this was 'moti mahal' and they looked confused. They then asked if we were groupon customers, when we said yes - they said they were moti mahal. The service was poor and we were made to feel second class because we were using a groupon. The food was abysmal and so cheap - the quality of the chicken and lamb was woeful. Never again.

Really not impressive. We were told not to have lamb as it wasn't fresh, salmon tikka was served with cod or hake or some such fish, not salmon, both, different, chicken dishes we ordered came up exactly the same and worst of all most of the crockery and glass was chipped - one bowl had a one inch piece out of it!

It says michelin list but I think the michelin list resturant has closed. Nowhere near that standard. Booking taken for 1:45 and it only opens at 3 pm. We had to make unnecessary alternative arrangements to come back in evening.
