First opened in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisanal baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie, whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly made cakes, craft pastries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose-leaf teas. Their specialities include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato.
Service and food dreadful. I have been to Knightsbridge branch of Valerie patisserie on several occasions and have always found it to be really good. This time it was awful. I should have realised something was amiss when they were advertising for staff in the window and only 3 tables were occupied on a Friday morning.
Hello everybody. So for starters the service was awful, there was only one staff working and the poor woman she’s was struggling, the snacks were small sandwich’s which were tasteless, they gave only 2 drinks (lattes); for an afternoon tea I excepted a tea. I had to paid for another drink as the afternoon tea only covered latte!
All I have to say is that I will never step a foot in that place again I feel like it was a waste of money and I would ovoid going there if I were you.
poor service and luke warm brunch
staff were rude, seating was downstairs and gave a feeling of a dungeon which took away from covent garden experience, there were no mince pies to take away on the deal as suggested - we got four cake slices that we didn't want and went to waste. I wanted to treat my mam and her friend visiting me and it was a disappointment. as we couldn't eat the take away cakes inside and we were rushed out.
Great service and good food, nothing more we could ask for!
Friendly and helpful staff, lovely food, plenty of attention, made my toddler feel welcome too. My only negative is the location being within debanhams it takes away from the lovely classic Patisserie Valerie ambience
however it is lovely to have this in Chelmsford regardless .
