From Our Editors

The stunning Southwark Cathedral opens its grand doors for worship, as well as celebrations and ceremonies of all kinds. Visitors can soak up the rich history of the building, which was extended in 2000 to include the library, Education Centre and of course, The Refectory. This dining area has a daily changing menu of hot and cold foods, as well as fresh homemade cakes and pastries. Kids’ portions are available for littler ones, and the eatery also offers a range of teas and fair trade coffees, as well as wine and beer.

Small portions. Not enough veggie sandwiches - 1 out of 4. No coffee or tea if you have the glass of Prosecco!! Don't know about the option without Prosecco.

Lovely food but they were not ready for us even though we had booked. Then half way through they started shifting tables and prepared for an evening party which made us feel like we had to leave

Beautiful surroundings for afternoon tea, but a shame the food let it down...The mustard and horseradish in the sandwiches was so overpowering we couldn't eat them. The scone-delicious as it was, was about the size of a 50p coin. Not a cake in sight-just a piece of Flapjack, chocolate brownie and ginger-carrot cake(with no frosting) Oh and 1 tea-bag and a small jug of hot water each... Was very disappointed and lesson learned-if I had of paid full price I would have complained!!
