Taormina Restaurant is a family run Italian eatery based on Craven Terrace in Bayswater. Its superb location in the heart of West London means that diners can eat in the restaurant or al fresco, on the pavement tables directly outside. The restaurant is decorated to a high standard, making the dining experience warm and authentically Italian. The food is also typically Italian; with traditional pasta dishes, risotto, and fish, all cooked with fresh ingredients and with a strong emphasis on cooking from scratch. The chef is happy to create dishes to suit the tastes of the customer and, if advised, specific dietary requirements will be catered for, such as gluten-free, diabetic and nut allergies. The restaurant is open every day of the week between 11:30 and 23:30. Situated in fashionable Bayswater, a short stroll from Paddington station, the Taormina restaurant combines the best of Italian cuisine with friendly service. Examples of the authentic dishes include an antipasti called Stracciatella soup, which translates to a chicken broth with egg and parmesan cheese, and the wonderfully named Insalata Nizzarda that consists of tuna, sardines, anchovies and egg. The Taormina also serves pizza, combining traditionally Italian toppings such as anchovies, capers and olives. There is an extensive wine list with an emphasis on Italian wines to suit the dishes; however, there are also wines from around the globe. With many Italian restaurants in the capital to choose from, the Taormina's reputation for serving good food in a friendly atmosphere ensures its popularity.
